13 years after breaking into the mainstream with their hit single "Tennessee," Atlanta hip-hop ground Arrested Development are trying to rally theirselves back to the top.

But, this time, their taking a grassroots approach, recently releasing new album, Since The Last Time, through an independent label, Vagabond Records.

Despite odds stacked against them this time around, the group tells the Associated Press that with most hip-hop music sounding the same, its up to the fans to demand a change.

"I believe in miracles," Speech, the group's lead rapper, told the AP. "People have been saying they're tired of this one-dimensional viewpoint of our community, of what our values are. Now, it's an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is and support music that’s not about that."

Their new single is titled "Miracles," and with hip-hop album sales continuing to decline, the title fits perfectly.

In 1992, the group broke onto the scene with their debut, 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of..., named after the amount of time it took them to land a record deal.

Today, they face similar obstacles. Instead of trying to land a deal, they will struggle to fit in, in a music different musical landscape.

Despite a breakup in 1996 due to "creative differences," the group reunited in 2000 and have been touring and releasing records via Speech's Vagabond Records label.

Their new album, Since The Last Time, is in stores now, as of Tuesday (October 30).
