The love from the hip-hop community continues for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. One of his major supporters has been Jay-Z, and to help his campaign, Hov will perform two free shows over the weekend -- one in Detroit and the other in Miami.
According to MTV, the first show will take place on Saturday (October 4) at the Cobo Arena in Detroit, and will promote voter registration and encourage attendees to get involved in the Obama campaign. Voter registration in Michigan ends on October 6th. If you're 18, free tickets are available at Obama campaign offices throughout southeast Michigan to attend the Detroit show and an accompanying rally.
On Sunday (October 5), Jay will help promote voter registration and Obama's campaign via a show in Miami at Bayfront Park, reports the Miami Herald. Monday is the deadline for registration in Florida. The paper reports that the Obama campaign has been holding a number of events around the state aimed at registering new voters. So far, it has registered an estimated 135,000 voters in the state.
Both candidates, McCain and Obama, are set to face off in their second debate on October 7 in Tennessee.
