After spending eight days hospitalized in intensive care, veteran New York rapper Buckshot has been officially released.

According to a press release from his camp, Buckshot is currently resting at his home in Brooklyn. He says his recovery was speeded up by the kind words of his supporters, and sent out a big thank you to all of them.

"I want to thank all the fans who called and wrote emails extending their well wishes and prayers. All the support helped me recover that much quicker," he said in a statement.

Last week, Buckshot was hospitalized after suffering a series of seizures. At the time, his business partner Dru-Ha revealed that the rapper and his labelmates had just returned from a three-week tour run through Europe.

While it is still unclear what caused the seizures, doctors believe that Buckshot was physically drained and became severely dehydrated to the extent that his body shut down, resulting in him suffering nine seizures in less than one day.

Buckshot was in good spirits as he left the hospital Thursday (October 2), and says he's looking forward to getting back to work. He is set to finish a group project with KRS-One, begin work on his third album with super producer 9th Wonder, and also a fourth studio album from his group Black Moon.

Buck's label, Duck Down Records, released two new projects this week -- Heltah Skeltah's D.I.R.T. album and DJ Revolution's King of the Decks.
