For the spring, Vans pays homage to surf culture fused with Vans’ California heritage by reuniting with renowned artist Yusuke Hanai for a new collection of apparel and footwear.
Featuring customized graphics on classic footwear silhouettes, staple apparel styles and accessories, this assortment bridges Yusuke’s counter-culture inspiration with Vans’ mission to always inspire and enable creative expression.
Vans introduces a new iteration of the Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF, Authentic SF and Classic Slip-On SF, each decked out in Yusuke’s retro-colored motif, comprised of a surfboard, skateboard, van and buddies road tripping. We see Yusuke’s signature art print incorporated across comfy tees, button-up shirts and boardshorts. However, standout styles include the Yusuke Loggin short-sleeve, a flax linen blend camp shirt with allover print and two short-sleeve cotton tees featuring large scale Yusuke graphic details. The capsule collection is rounded out by a graphic green bucket hat.
Yusuke Hanai’s work has been featured across the globe in Australia, Brazil, California, Hawaii, London, New York, Paris and Tokyo. Yusuke has carved out an eclectic audience due to his unique blend of Japanese-infused illustrations depicting an adventurous, wanderlust-like lifestyle. Drawing inspiration from within his local Kamakura surf community, Yusuke’s illustrations focus on mobility and discovery.
