Cinco de Mayo celebrations are well and truly underway in the City of Angels.
Local favorite LA Taco, the go-to platform for Art, Music, Tacos and Lifestyle in Los Angeles hosted their 10th Annual Taco Madness at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes this past Saturday, May 4th, alongside sponsors AT&T and Airbnb.
Thousands of guests descended upon the grounds to join the lifestyle festival which featured nine outstanding taco stops, including our new favorite Sonora Town Taqueria and Tacos Y Birria La Unica (more on these two later), local vendors showcasing LA Taco merchandise, t-shirt printing (“Pollo, Asada, Carnitas and Camarones” anyone?), as well as a host of epic and crowd pumping DJs performing inside an old school VW Vanagon, along an impressive Accordion player.
Not forgetting the drinks because everyone knows a true Mexican fiesta includes boozing; tequila and margaritas were provided by Jimador, while I Love Micheladas do what they do best and served up some first-class micheladas (including their pineapple version).
The party really turned a course as the sun set, when the annual Taco Madness competition took place with over 30 taquerias selected to compete for the title of LA Taco Madness Champion. In the end, Sonora Town Taqueria and Tacos Y Birria La Unica battled it out on stage, while festival goers eagerly cheered them and watched as the staff from Sonora Town graciously accepted their second Taco Madness and drank Jimador from a giant cup.
