The 2020-21 NFL season is in full swing, and despite the lack of a preseason, fans are happy that football is back. Since the start of the season, some teams have fallen into a groove, while others… well, haven’t.
After watching as many games as possible through Week 5, we decided to put together a list of teams we think will definitely make this year’s NFL Playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs
The reigning and defending champions appear to be one of the top teams in the league, though Week 4’s game against the New England Patriots was intense and Week 5 ended in a stunning loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. And now, the Chiefs have a task in Week 6, when they take on the undefeated Buffalo Bills (who also makes this list), as well as an interesting match-up in Week 10 against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Bucs.
Patrick Mahomes hasn’t exactly been in at his best in the past two games, but he has time to get it together. Despite coming off a loss, the 888sport Sportsbook has the Chiefs listed with the best odds to win the 2021 Super Bowl.
Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane went out and traded for receiver threat Stefon Diggs from the Vikings, essentially helping Josh Allen’s struggles with the deep throw. The 24-year-old has been on top of his game this season, throwing for 12 touchdowns with only 1 interception through 4 games this season, leading the Bills to an undefeated 4-0 record so far.
It could be a special season for the Bills, but we have to watch how things progress over the next several weeks.
Seattle Seahawks
Put some respect on Russell Wilson’s name. The Seahawks quarterback is poised to lead his team to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2014, when they won. They are 5-0 and he’s playing some of the best football of his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
This past Sunday, Wilson helped his case for MVP this season, when he earned a dramatic last-second win over the Vikings, with a six-yard touchdown pass on fourth and goal with 15 seconds remaining in rainy Seattle for the win! LET’S GO!
Green Bay Packers
For those that thought the Green Bay Packers were ready to get rid of Aaron Rodgers in favor of the newly-drafted Jordan Love, think again. The Hall of Fame quarterback is having one of his best-ever starts to an NFL season in his career! He’s thrown for over 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns and hasn’t even thrown an interception. He’s leading Green Bay to one helluva season at 36 years old. So far, the Packers are 4-0. Let’s see how far the undefeated streak goes.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Bucs are just 3-2 to start the season, but we have two words for you: Tom Brady. Yep, we’re predicting that Brady’s Bucs will 100% make the Playoffs… because, well, he’s Tom Brady. The G.O.A.T. has had some success with his new teammates, but they’re still finding their groove together. As the season continues, we think they’ll continue to get better and will give teams trouble in the playoffs.
Also, the Bucs’ defense isn’t getting enough credit. They top 5 in both passing and rushing DVOA. So, watch out.
