The all-new Sierra has been released by GMC and it’s an impressive one. Truck person or not, the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 is a vehicle you would fall in love with. Whether it’s for work or play, you will get the best of luxury and ruggedness all in one… and we got to experience it first-hand during a recent trip to Park City, Utah.
Spending three days in Park City was an experience I will never forget. Trying new foods, meeting new people and taking part in bobsledding was one for the books. After getting picked up from the airport in Park City, our first destination was to go wherever we wanted… and get acquainted with the new Sierra AT4 on our own. I drove for about an hour to a town called Provo. The ride was so smooth, quiet, and very comfortable. The ride felt more like 20 minutes. While test driving the new GMC truck, I got to learn all about the tech-savvy features in the four-door truck.
The Sierra AT4 offers all the technologies you’d expect in a brand new vehicle: keyless start button, auto stop and start, Wi-Fi, a navigation touch screen system, a backup and rearview camera, along with HD surround vision, heated seats, and lane change alert. There is also a heads-up display that only the diver can see on the front windshield, which allows the driver to stay looking ahead to see vital info while driving. I happened to figured all this out while driving to Provo, and the crazy part is, there was more to discover about the truck then I realized. Not being familiar with all the technologies since my Mustang is a base model, my brain was blown away by everything the truck could do.
I was used to riding in a low V6 Mustang, so I was a bit nervous how different driving a truck would be, but the transition of the car was easy and smooth. The handling was great, and I felt safe driving it, even though I haven’t had much experience driving such a huge truck… especially driving in an area where it snows and is icy.
As I made it to my stop, I got out the car to take a better look at the exterior. Looking outside the interior of the Sierra AT4 and you will see the 2-inch factory suspension and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires made for everyday driving and off-roading. And of course, one of the most talked about features of the truck is the GMC multipro tailgate with lift assist and six functions for enhanced loading options. It offers a standing workstation, and flip out step for quick and easy access to the bed of the truck.
Once I finally made it to the hotel, I met the crew who I would be spending the next three days with. We spent our time during dinner chatting and eating delicious food, and then we headed to our rooms to get some rest, because the next day, we would be towing bobsleds! It was early in the morning and freezing cold as we made our way to Utah Olympic Park — where the Olympics were held back in 2002. We began to tow the bobsleds up a steep mountain, each getting a turn behind the wheel. The towing was so easy; it allows someone with little to no experience to tow without the need of assistance. Afterwards, we took part in actual bobsledding, and let me tell you, if you don’t like roller coasters, don’t try this!
As the next day rolled around, we drove the trucks back to the airport to depart back to our homes. I wish I could have taken the truck home, it would have been a perfect vehicle for the family; for moves, trips, and or even going to the movies. Overall, the Sierra AT4 was an awesome vehicle, with everything you would expect in a truck, and more!
Enjoy the photos of the trip above, and if you’re looking for a new truck, the GMC Sierra AT4 should definitely be one to consider.
