Vivobarefoot has launched a new capsule collection of footwear inspired by the works of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, specifically for its made-in-Ethiopia, Soul of Africa range.
Celebrating the iconic artist’s rebellious nature, the footwear brand’s new collaboration consists of the Ababa Basquiat, available in two renditions and sizing for men, women and kids.
The Ababa Basquiat is part of Vivobarefoot’s collaborative multi-piece capsule showing off three of the late artist’s Neo-Expressionist works. The shoe is made from Wild Hide, the naturally-scarred leather of free-roaming, cage-free cattle, sourced from small scale farmers in Ethiopia. Handmade in Ethiopia, the production of the Ababa empowers makers and supports local communities.
The Vivobarefoot x Basquiat collection is available globally now at the brand’s online store.
