PUMA has announced a multi-year endorsement deal with youth basketball phenom Mikey Williams, making him one of the youngest basketball athletes to sign with the brand.
At only 17 years old, Mikey Williams has cemented himself as one of the most talented athletes in high school basketball and is a top prospect in his 2023 high school class.
“Mikey joining our PUMA family is exciting news for our brand,” said Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing at PUMA. “His talent on the court and his ability to connect with young athletes and fans alike, will help drive hoops culture forward and inspire the next generation of athletes. He has a bright future ahead of him and we are proud to be a part of his journey.”
PUMA returned to basketball in 2018, merging sport with culture while introducing new PUMA basketball athletes who are known for their talent and style on and off the court. Mikey, a five-star recruit playing for Vertical Academy out of Charlotte, North Carolina, has emerged as one of the most dominant players in prep basketball and is the youngest athlete to sign with PUMA Hoops.
“I am excited to join the PUMA family this early in my basketball journey,” said Mikey Williams. “PUMA really understands how to mix hoops and culture, two things I am passionate about.”
To support this announcement, Mikey is featured in PUMA’s “Not Yet Rated” marketing creative, which embraces the notion that while Mikey is a top talent, his ceiling still hasn’t been determined. He will be seen in future campaigns, product launches, and will create social content to help inspire the next generation of youth athletes in a disruptive and unexpected way.
Mikey joins PUMA Hoops growing roster of young talented athletes including LaMelo Ball, Breanna Stewart, Deandre Ayton, Katie Lou Samuelson, RJ Barrett and more.
