Founded in 2024 by Cory Dawson, a former art director and freelance photographer with two decades of creative experience, Young Psychos was born in Vancouver from the same late-night garage sessions that fuel driving culture. Dawson describes it as a mindset as much as a label: “It’s more than the drive. It’s the sound. The build. The obsession over details most people miss. Car culture was the first place where my creativity and obsession met.”
The name comes from a study at Western University that once made headlines with the line: “Young guys who like loud cars are likely to be psychopaths.” Instead of rejecting the label, Dawson reclaimed it—turning “Young Psychos” into a banner for enthusiasts who own their obsessions proudly and loudly.
